Blissfully Comfortable, August 21, 2008 By This review is from: ECCO Women's Yucatan Sandal (Apparel) I bought these shoes in the "Atmosphere/Ice White" color, which was more like a beige and off white - not the white you find in sneakers (thank heavens). Be aware these sandals also have black on them, as that color edges all the straps and it is somewhat more prominent than it appeared to me in the picture.
While expensive, these shoes are worth the price. When you walk on them, the cushioning is so good you almost feel like you're sinking into them in a springy way. I've now worn them two days and there has been absolutely no break-in period whatsoever - there isn't a spot on my feet that has been rubbed or irritated in any way.
I have a foot with a very pronounced bunion that makes my foot extremely wide in just one spot. I had developed foot pain at the ball of my foot that a podiatrist has told me is the result of wearing shoes that were too narrow for my bunion, placing primary pressure on foot bones intended to receive secondary pressure. I'm a fan of the less expensive Teva sandals which are quite similar but the ECCO Yucatan has better support and more quality long lasting construction. Another nice feature is the third Velcro adjustable strap at the heel. These sandals will feel good from the moment you first wear them and for years to come. Don't be put off by the European sizing as there are conversion charts and I know a 40 European is the same as a comparable size 9 women's shoe using American sizing. Quality shoes/sandals like this will encourage you to walk more comfortably and as a result be more physically fit so consider them an investment in your health.

Comfortable, August 25, 2007 Like them a lot - tried on many similar shoes. I have pretty wide feet - they are a little too narrow. But I have heel pain and the support and cushioning are great. They can be a little warm but they are sandals so it doesn't get too bad.
Highly recommend them - best with a medium wide foot.
