GREAT WINTER BOOTS!, November 18, 2009 By This review is from: Rieker Z7170 Eike 70 Boot (Apparel) Rieker's Eike 70 - I purchased these in espresso color. It's more of a chestnut and matches anything in your wardrobe. They are true to size and have a snug fit. I have skinny heels and these fit like a glove. When you walk on them it feels like walking on clouds (more like a well cushioned running shoe); the genuine sheerling linning delivers the unsurpassed comfort that only the real thing does. Sole has a good grip too. The fact that they are water resistant is a plus. Can't say enough positive things about these boots!

Great snow/ice boots, January 21, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rieker Z7170 Eike 70 Boot (Apparel) I am from one of the most snowy cities which has population over two million, so we are technically force to walk on the compacted snow which is more slippery than a regular sheet of ice. Of course this boots does not guarantee the traction like those steel teeth that we use for snow shoes' soles, but it has a pretty good grip on snow/ice.
However sizing may be a bit issue (I bought size 38). I wear US size 7B - 7A. Since my wider left foot fits perfectly, my narrower right foot was swimming inside of boot... If your feet are narrower than B, you may be need to wear a thick pair of socks. This has square toes, so your choice of go down one size is not really an option (there is not that much space between your toe and the tip of the shoe). If you feet are wider than B, like E, you need to go up a size, I think.
Also the lining is real wool, but a few glue patches were on those lining (I also bought another kind of Rieker shoes with wool lining which has the... Read more

Previously owned :-(, September 9, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Rieker Z7170 Eike 70 Boot (Apparel) I looked to purchase these boots last winter but the price seemed too high for me at the time. Late August of 2011 I found theme on Amazon and was thrilled to see they were being sold here. I was so excited to finally purchase these boots at such a great price ($58), but I should have know it was too good to be true. The soles of the shoes were detailed clean but the attempt to do the same with the suede wasn't much of a success. The shoe had obvious worn marks on the suede where it was clear a pant or jean leg had rubbed against the boot over a long period of time and the crease marks also showed they had been previously used. Had I know I was buying a used pair of boots, I would not have made the purchase. Also, I purchased a size 8 and when the boots arrived, they were too snug. Even though the color was much lighter than I expected, I think I would have gotten used to them, but I will be returning these and hope that I can find them in an 8.5, brand new.
