An excellent place to get teena marie's earlier extended versions..., August 29, 2005 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: I Need Your Lovin: Best of (Audio CD) While not a complete greatest hits, since it only covers 1979-1981, this disc does feature a good number of long versions, filling out a whole CD, the way it should be. I'm Just A Sucker for this CD!, January 24, 2000 By "dugzter" (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: I Need Your Lovin: Best of (Audio CD) I have always liked the Teena Marie songs that pop up on the radio, like "Square Biz" and "I Need Your Lovin'". Based on those songs, I always assumed that she was just a "disco diva" with a great voice. Now that I have this CD, I realize that she is so much more than that! Her music runs the gamut from deep soul to funk to jazz and there is even a little bit of Latin influence on the JAZZY ballad "Portuguese Love". That song is probably the highlight of the CD, it is one of the most soulful songs I've ever heard. Her voice is unbelievable! And she also writes, arranges, produces, and plays multiple instruments on most of these songs! This CD has been remastered and includes the full long versions of all the songs (no radio edits!), so whether you are in the mood to dance or relax, this is the perfect CD.

This review is from: I Need Your Lovin: Best of (Audio CD) Lady T has been wicked it seems for a long long time.she is to me the baddest one-woman band in the biz.able to groove on bass,keys,drums,guitar, write,arrange,produce her own stuff not to mention have one of the tightest soulful voices that i've ever heard.she started out under Rick James(a genius in his own right)and developed her independence to create her own idenity like on I need your loving,sqaure biz(a free style rap in there i might add)a cut that I love to this day written by Rick but sung with vigor by Lady T deja vu i've been here before.that song is essential.this album has elements of Funk,pop,world,jazz,hip-hop,and at the center of it all the power and dynamic teena marie. the epic set is tight as well she is so bad that she went to two labels and hit hard on both. that's the genius and hard work of this lady.
